For one of our clients, an international pharma company in Basel, we are looking for a Product Safety Specialist to join the global unit "Diagnostics Product Sustainability & Compliance".
The Compliance Operations department is responsible for the data and processes within Diagnostics Quality & Regulatory that enable the sustainable development, transport/handling, marketing and disposal of all Diagnostics products (the so-called product life cycle) in compliance with chemical and environmental law.

Tasks & responsibilities:
- Data management and master data maintenance in SAP EH&S(M) and chemical law assessment of our products (substances, mixtures and products) as part of the material declaration E2 E processes
- Continuous development of the EHS data management data, process and system architecture
- Key user for the EH&S data management tools (support in determining the system properties, accompanying periodic introduction processes by checking requirements and test cases)
- Ensuring data conformity, quality and integrity (according to data model); as well as carrying out plausibility checks
- Contact person (1st level support) for local and global functions regarding the implementation of relevant chemical and environmental regulatory legislation

Must Haves:
- Completed degree in natural sciences, engineering, information science or comparable
- Min. 3-5 years of professional experience in product safety environment (hazard communication, material declaration, product stewardship) or EHS master data management in the chemical or pharmaceutical industry
- Very good knowledge of (global) chemical and environmental regulations legislation (e.g. REACh, GHS/CLP, dangerous goods, Ro HS, EPR, WEEE, California Proposition 65)
- Affinity for handling large amounts of data and preference for data science
- Initial experience and expertise in agile project management or working in an agile environment
- Experience with IT systems (e.g. SAP EH&S)
- Excellent knowledge of English and ideally good knowledge of German
- Result- and solution-oriented as well as independent, proactive and structured way of working
- Enjoy interacting with others and sharing information
- Good communication skills, ability to explain complex organizational or technical issues clearly and concisely
