Your Role

As Data Governance Manager at Bank J. Safra Sarasin, you are an ambitious individual seeking to contribute to the bank's success. You will be responsible for maintaining a robust data governance framework, including policies, procedures, controls, and training. The role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and enhances data quality and integrity across the organization. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to implement best practices in data management and foster a data-driven culture within the bank.

Your Responsibilities

Maintain and further develop the Bank’s data governance framework for Switzerland and relevant international entities

Sustain and enforce data management policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data availability, integrity, and confidentiality

Collaborate with stakeholders, including Legal, Risk Office, IT, Information Security, and Data Protection Officer

Manage data classification and identification processes along the data lifecycle, identifying and mitigating risks

Support periodic data deletion processes based on retention policies and regulations

Assist in data quality management initiatives, addressing inconsistencies or inaccuracies

Develop data governance metrics and KPIs; provide updates to senior management

Initiate and conduct employee training and awareness programs to promote a data-driven culture and best practices

Your Profile

University degree in Data Management, Data or Information Governance, IT, Security, or related field, or equivalent banking education

Proven experience in data governance or management within a financial institution; experience in compliance and risk management is a plus

Strong understanding of Swiss banking regulations (FINMA Circular 2023/1), GDPR, and international data frameworks

Expertise in data lifecycle and quality management; familiarity with relevant tools is advantageous

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder collaboration skills

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Fluent in English; German or French skills are a plus
