Senior Clinician (60-100%) in Equine Internal Medicine, University of Zurich, Switzerland
The Clinic for Equine Internal Medicine at the Equine Department of the Vetsuisse Faculty of the University of Zurich has a vacancy for a Senior Clinician (60-100%) in Equine Internal Medicine, to start in July 2026 or by agreement.
Requirements:
•Veterinarian with dissertation (DVM, Dr med vet, or equivalent)
•Completed residency program (Board eligible) or Board Certification in Large Animal Internal Medicine (ACVIM) and/or Equine Internal Medicine (ECEIM)
•The candidate should be a strong team player and have sufficient clinical experience in equine internal medicine. Excellent communication skills and a high level of motivation for service, teaching of students and training of interns and residents are also required.
•Fluency in German (written and spoken) and English is essential
Responsibilities:
•Clinical work in equine internal medicine (incl. neonatology, emergency, and intensive care medicine)
•Theoretical and practical training of students, interns, residents (ACVIM / ECEIM) and graduate students as well as active participation in continuing education events for veterinarians
•Emergency service at night and on weekends (on-call service, incl. foaling season)
•Representing the Equine Department through interaction with clients, referring veterinarians, other faculty members, clinicians, colleagues in the preclinical and paraclinical institutes, students, external research groups, visitors, and industry representatives
•Active participation in the future development of the Clinic for Equine Internal Medicine, taking on committee work and assisting with necessary administrative tasks
•Own research activities within the scope of personal academic interests
Salary/employment:
Employment is based on university guidelines for senior clinicians of the Vetsuisse Faculty of the University of Zurich, considering former training and experience.
