The

Senior Scientist In Vitro Pharmacology, Metabolic Diseases

will be responsible for the in vitro strategy and related assays to support target validation and PD assessment of Six Peaks Bio’s pipeline. As a member of the Nonclinical and Translational Development Team, you will be responsible for internal assay development, experimental design/execution and data analysis from target assessment to IND, as well as serve as an external alliances manager for in vitro-related outsourced activities. The individual in this position will have the unique opportunity to participate in the rapid growth of a biotech startup.
RESPONSIBILITIES

You collaboratively design, execute and critically interpret complex in vitro preclinical experimental activities for the validation and characterization of targets or therapeutic agents.
You direct and/or perform in vitro / ex vivo experimental work to support the evaluation of the lead candidates.
You develop -from scratch- complex in vitro models to address Mo A-relevant questions in the most predictive way.
You coordinate in vitro activities internally and with external partners; You guide the selection of preferred provider(s) for outsourced in vitro studies; You manage external providers as scientific and organizational point person.
You innovatively (1) use appropriate tools for data visualization, (2) apply statistical methods and machine learning algorithms to build predictive models, and (3) leverage real-world data (RWD) to competitively position assets.
You are accountable for the integrative analysis, review, interpretation and reporting of IND-enabling activities.
You act as subject matter expert in project teams and demonstrate clear and professional verbal and written communication.
You build a network of external expertise and are well-connected to the drivers of new and emerging scientific innovation and technologies in a fast-progressing field.
You work independently, analyzing and presenting data in a timely and highly efficient manner to project teams and stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS

You have a Ph. D., in Life Sciences and 5-8 years of experience in biomedical research and/or drug development.
You have drug development experience in the metabolic / musculoskeletal disease areas.
You have hands-on experience with standard and more complex in vitro and ex vivo models, and associated readouts in the metabolism and musculoskeletal disease areas.
You master tools to support advanced data visualization, analysis, integration; you are familiar with statistical methods and machine learning algorithms.
You have excellent data management and record-keeping skills.
You have experience in the back-translation of clinical data, which is a significant plus.
You are a fast learner and willing to learn new skills and technologies; you are flexible and can accommodate to rapidly changing priorities and deadlines.
You have a track-record of working with CROs, academic partners, and external expert consultants.
You have excellent oral and written communication skills with high attention to critical details and proven ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams and influence decision-making process.
